Bathing in peace and serenity,
I sit humming an old tune,
Under the tamarind tree.
All my doubts, all my fears,
Dread, concern, despair and worry,
Blast off to several light years,
Under the tamarind tree. There is no haste, there is no hurry,
No sense of time, no responsibility,
As in the lap of nature I make merry,
Under the tamarind tree.
No matter what challenge life has in store,
No matter what predicament I foresee,
I am happy and innocent once more,
Under the tamarind tree.
This is no place for guilt and regret,
No place for grudges or animosity,
This is the place to forgive and forget,
Under the tamarind tree.
Whenever I feel broken and amiss,
A lone warrior in a world of enmity,
Nothing raises my spirits as this,
My good old tamarind tree.
O demons of the past,"pay heed,hear!"
If there's a God, here's where he'd be,
Because if there is heaven, it is here,
Under my tamarind tree..
